Chad Carver, Founder & Owner
I founded Ideal Energy in 2007 after spending 12 years in the mortgage and finance industry. The focus of Ideal Energy since we started has always been on finding ways to save companies money in regards to their lighting and improving lighting quality for employees and customers alike. It’s a great feeling being able to really help a company’s bottom line and help them become better stewards of the environment by switching to LED’s. It’s been a great first ten years and I am sure with the upcoming advances in lighting we are in store for even bigger things to come.
Mitch Names, Energy Advisor
I grew up in New York Mills, a small town in central Minnesota and later attended Minnesota State CTC. After school, I worked in the construction industry for several years, started my own business, and later sold my business to work as Director of Operations for Madsen Specialties. I also worked in outside sales for Dakota Millwork in Tea, SD and Bayer Built Woodworks in the commercial sales department. I have been an Energy Adviser with Ideal Energy since 2015, using my experience in business ownership, construction, and commercial sales to find the best solutions for my customers. I currently serve on boards Habitat for Humanity and Glenwood Lutheran Church. I enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling with my daughters, Grace and Gretta.
Dan Storlien, Account Specialist
I grew up in Marshall, MN and completed college in 1994 at USF in Tampa Florida with a degree in Finance. I am a happy father of two grown daughters and one son getting ready to head off to college. I also am a proud Grandfather of a six year old granddaughter and another on the way! I owned and operated a large full service mortgage company for many years and assisted in helping homeowners across the country reduce their mortgage payments. I also helped first time homeowners achieve the American Dream of home ownership to many needed renters throughout the Southeast United States. I am now enjoying this opportunity to work Ideal energy and happily saving companies $1,000’s on their lighting bills by converting to LED.
Luke Schulz, Energy Savings Specialist
I live in Sioux Falls with my wife and our dog Cooper, a high-energy German Shorthaired Pointer/Lab mix who keeps us on our toes. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports—especially football and hockey—and I’ve recently gotten into deer hunting and fishing.
One personal accomplishment I’m especially proud of is completing the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Marathon. It was a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience that pushed me both mentally and physically.
Professionally, I’m focused on helping businesses save as much as possible by making the switch to LED lighting systems. Whether it’s through retrofitting existing fixtures or installing brand-new systems, I enjoy finding the right solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs. It’s rewarding to be part of something that’s good for both the bottom line and the environment.
